I'm Gen-X and never went down that route of getting any Tattoos. As I've gotten older I've noticed it was definitely a rarity for my generation to not have any.

I've watched my daughters and granddaughters get tattoos and it has sickened me. Why would a beautiful young woman put permanent cartoons all over her body? I don't understand. I don't have any tattoos. I didn't think they were worth investing in when I was young and never saw a reason for them. As I grew older, I sensed that I would not want something on my skin forever, especially considering that I may grow out of that particular mindset that made me choose a certain tattoo.

I have friends with tattoos and that is fine. Whatever floats your boat. Just not for me. They always seemed stupid and immature.

I know of a millennial chick who is inked from one end to the other - from the ankles up the thighs, on the hands extending into full sleeves, and up to her neck, with a single world forming a 'necklace' of sorts (great idea! /s). She has serious health problems (along with her mental/emotional problems which surely the tats exacerbated). She had been a very attractive girl but naturally all those tats did not contribute to her attractiveness, ultimately.

No doubt these particles, albeit small and few in number, circulate throughout the reticuloendothelial system and deposit largely in the liver and spleen where they have a chronic irritating inflammatory effect - not good.

When I was really young I heard tattooed extremities were usually the first to go in accidents, like they were a sign to lose first. Like donated in general, hard to explain but my mom was talking about it when I was lil and I never did get one.

All the chicks I was with in the '80 / '90s (a lot) were 100% tattoo free also. Seems most young now (compared to me) have them all over.

Gen X as well, but we laughed at tattoos growing up. Senior year in high school, 1991, two idiot friends we knew got matching tattoos on their shoulders. A maybe 2 inch lightning bolt with their names through it. One guy was named Jay, the other Dave. Those tattoos were so gay, we started calling Jay "Gay", and Dave "Gayve". They might still have those nicknames....sometimes nicknames can be as permanent as tattoos.....lol.
