P&G Challenges Men to Shave Their ‘Toxic Masculinity’ in Gillette Ad
https://www.wsj.com/articles/p-g-challenges-men-to-shave-their-toxic-masculinity-in-gillette-ad-11547467200
The ad, dubbed “We Believe,” opens with audio of news about the current #MeToo movement, bullying and “toxic masculinity.” A narrator then goes on to dispute the notion that “boys will be boys,” asking, “Is this the best a man can get? Is it? We can’t hide from it. It has been going on far too long. We can’t laugh it off, making the same old excuses.”
The ad puts a new spin on the brand’s 30-year tagline, “The Best A Man Can Get,” challenging men to take positive actions, such as stopping other men, and the next generation, from harassing women.

'I just want to shave, not feel bad about myself': Conservative customers boycott Gillette in outrage over its 'offensive and sexist' ad about 'toxic masculinity'
Countless men - and some women - took to Twitter to announce their boycott
They were outraged by the shaving brand's recent commercial, We Believe
The ad calls on men to 'be the best a man can get' - Gillette's tag line
It redefines it against the backdrop of the #MeToo movement and laments 'toxic masculinity'
The ad, which was released on Monday, has divided opinion but mostly, men who have bought from it for decades are furious
Procter & Gamble, its parent company, is yet to suffer a business impact
In fact, shares were up by 0.9 percent on Tuesday as controversy rumbled on

I recall on a 1987 US Summer road trip, I paired up with a couple German guys my age I met at a hostel, & we traveled together for a few days. For some reason, Gillette came up, & they insisted Gillette is a German corp. I wasn't sure, but I did know 'G' traded in a US market (NYSE or Nasdaq?), I think it was even an SP500 or DJ30 component, and I told them so, but they remained sure it was German founded/headquartered. They thought the same of Adidas shoes. I've been too lazy ever since, to look up the history/origin of these corps. At the time I just dismissed it as a form of 'nationalism', where familiar (intl) brands sold everywhere in Germany, are assumed to be German!

King Camp Gillette was born in Wisconsin. His company was never owned by Germans. Gillette was French Hugenot via England.
Adidas - "All Day I Dream About Sex" - was and is a German company. Founded by Adolf "Adi" Dassler - hence, AdiDas. He supplied Jesse Owens at the Berlin Olympics, and his reputation grew from there. His brother founded competitor, Puma.

Have been a very loyal Gillette customer for many years but that's behind me now (kiss my lily white ass Gillette). Having to get used to the much lower mass of the Schick however the first shave on a new razor is far superior with the Schick ST2 vs. the Gillette Sensor Excel. Problem areas that took many multiple passes with the Gillette (and still feeling slight stubble) the Schick buzzed right through on the first pass, clean as a whistle. Now for the longevity test, how many days before I feel a need for a new razor?

There must be some sort of mafia protected monopoly surrounding the creation of a sharp razor blade that lasts more than a week.
Cause Schick only ever lasts about 6 days so its obviously a created competitor.

First of all, if you were an intelligent being, you’ld buy the cheaper ’identical’ ’male’ razor. Second, the reason a ‘pink tax’ exist is because women in general don’t care about what things cost if it is something they ‘need’. They don’t look at the price tag, they don’t compare it to other similar products, because they ‘deserve it’.

Now for the longevity test, how many days before I feel a need for a new razor?
After rinsing it thoroughly, rinse it with rubbing alcohol. It's the water left on the blades that turns into micro rust that dulls the blade.
I post at least once a year when I'm in town.

Yep, this. I saw a Jordan Peterson interview where they talked about this. It's more than just razors, it's pretty much every product where there's a male and female option, the female products are always a bit more expensive. It's because women generally are more submissive than men, and will generally pay more when they're told to. Men in general don't put up with it and wouldn't buy the product. So they lower the price of the men's product to the point where they will buy it.
