I've never heard of that company. The only part of that rifle I see that is stainless is the barrel, and they're very ambiguous about the specs on that stainless barrel, the upper and lower receivers are still forged aluminum -

- 16" 416 Stainless Steel Quality Match Grade Barrel.

What is their standard for "Quality Match Grade"??

I can homebuild a higher quality AR for far less with select parts from well known high quality mil spec manufacturers (e.g. Spike's, Toolcraft, Geissele, etc.) including something like a Noveske stainless barrel. If going with a stainless barrel I would certainly discriminate and get a barrel from a company that is known for quality stainless barrels. The NP3 coating on aluminum is a gimmick.

Only if we are battling moose. It won't work long for a large crowd of bipedals.

MBR = main battle rifle, Aggie assault rifles don’t qualify.

45-70 qualifies. It's a big bullet. We can't be all fancy MBR folks like yourself. :)

It'll work, when they get close. Also stop engines in their tracks. Don't knock the 45-70, or discount it. If SHTF, the guide gun is the one to grab.

At best a 6+1 capacity...you're kidding, right?

IMO the .45-70 is a standoff weapon, i.e. if you can master its rainbow trajectory. As for CQB, forget it, not enough magazine capacity to get you out of a jam.

I've hit a bullseye out 100 yards, iron sights. The rainbow trajectory starts after that, for most loads.

It's what I've got. And, plenty of ammo. So, it's my MBR if SHTF. The gun is also stainless.

Well then, that's great on your marksmanship. You also have the advantage of being able to completely fill up that .45-70 case with black powder in a pinch without being concerned about overpressure (I would suggest you load up on components because in a SHTF scenario you won't be finding battlefield pickup ammo). However if you see a gang of 8 or more bad guys that want to hurt you then I suggest you beat feet, and hopefully you will see them before they see you.

No amount fire power or tactical gear is ever enough, midnight. I figured you should know that.

I've been in a real shit blizzard before and the lesson I learned there was: You carry as much ammo (meaning capacity) as you possibly can. There's no feeling like having an empty magazine (in my case a tubular mag) while the fight is still going on.
