If "tit for tat" would be honestly applied, men who don't want a child should not be forced to take care of the baby if the mom unilaterally decides to keep it (i.e. men should not have to be forced to pay child support). This is because men have no ability to force a women to take care of a baby they don't want (men can't stop a woman from having an abortion even if the man wants his child).
