houston industrial fire growing larger, 8 tanks now

this thing started two or three days ago -- now up to 8 tanks and still going strong. company is ITC, a shipping/terminal company on the houston ship channel

I hear the fire fighting effort is being hampered by low water pressure. If you have all that fuel sitting there why wouldn’t you have the infrastructure in place for sufficient fire suppression??

i have friends that are there fighting the fire. since they arrived to the scene the fire got much bigger. i cant wait to mess with them about that :)

Who the FVVK sprays water on a chem fire?? When i lived there in the 80's the refineries would lock the houston fd out so they didnt fvk it up. The oil co would use dry chem to put it out and only then would they allow the dullards of the houston fd in.

they spray a water/foam mixture on the fires (the foam creates a snuffing effect. spray water on the surrounding equip to keep cool. all of texas and lousiana will be depleted of foam after this monster. 18 wheelers rolling in from all directions.

city fd show up and monitor....or in big ones, help away from the front lines. staging areas, etc. they are support
