Evidently the state has been at work for quite a while.

The Suicide of Socrates, 399 BC

On a day in 399 BC the philosopher Socrates stood before a jury of 500 of his fellow Athenians accused of "refusing to recognize the gods recognized by the state" and of "corrupting the youth." If found guilty; his penalty could be death.

Athenian law prescribed death by drinking a cup of poison hemlock. Socrates would be his own executioner.

Participating in mock trials can be fatal.

When Socrates was handed a cup of hemlock he might have turn his back, poured out the liquid and proclaimed to his jailer "Socrates is dead. Long live (insert his next name here)".

Symbolism doesn't require a body to do a post mortem on.

I still have hopes you might learn capitalization and punctuation. In any event you may feel free to take an additional flu shot to compensate for me not having taken one.

Sometimes you need to beat them at their own game.

The Law of Necessity is well worth researching.

An example is given of a man on death row. On the day of the execution they open the door and he voluntarily walks toward the gallows. He might just as easily taken another turn and started walking for the nearest exit.

This is a failing of the human spirit. You don't voluntarily participate in your own execution. If a name change is all that is needed then so be it.

When the rules are established for you then the game is fixed.

VERY good! Periods and question marks is a start on punctuation. Being capable of forming complete sentences is the mark of education. Without these marks your post falls into the same classification as those who use the phrases 'gag me with a spoon' or 'up your nose with a rubber hose'.

should i buy a new cadillac to enhance my neighbors' impression of me? how 'bout these shoes i'm wearing - are they okay?

my writing style is part of my personality - i'm all about efficiency. no value in pomp

Hey cheka: This pompous dumb fuck insults you for not CAPITALIZING your name or sentences while he himself adopted the above user name that starts with a lower-case "z".

Except that you are a yellow bellied coward and anybody that saw what you did will spread it far and wide and will be scorned by any man woman or child that is worth his salt.

And here is the funny part.

The person that says anything to get out will eventually meet that same Grimm reaper who he thought he thwarted.

The only difference is between those days you didn't live.

You existed.

Maybe that is cool for some.

I just ain't a part of that click

Better than having some WASP do it for your entire family at Ellis Island.

True. Your name is your identity. It belongs to you and if you want to change it you may at any time you like. If anyone else chooses your name for you you may accept the change or change it back.

Also note that any change to your name by someone else is likely intended to depose you. Case in point

Louis XVI (French pronunciation: [lwi sɛːz]; 23 August 1754 – 21 January 1793), born Louis-Auguste, was the last King of France before the fall of the monarchy during the French Revolution. He was referred to as Citizen Louis Capet during the four months before he was guillotined.

Rules do not permit beheading the king ... so you change his name and then execute Citizen Louis Capet instead.
