More than likely the latter. The tribe has concentrated their nearly unlimited resources on controlling the internet.

Supposedly Bitchute is setup like BitTorrent so that while you are watching a video, you are also seeding it to others. That does make it extremely resilient regarding censorship. Time will tell which way it goes. They did move their domain over to Epik.com domain host provider, which also hosts Gab.ai. (censorship free twitter).
