For all the pantywaists who are skeered of the po-po and will chime in, "Well he DID end up getting a trip to the Graybar Hotel!" I only have this exchange between Thoreau and Emerson when Thoreau was in jail for 'civil disobedience' to set the example with:

Emerson upon visiting Thoreau in jail: "Henry David, WHAT are you doing in there (jail)?

Thoreau: Ralph Waldo, "WHAT ARE YOU NOT DOING IN HERE??"
