Bombers scannned me I was actually scanned by 2 fighter jets from Nellis Air Force Base shortly after Nixon allowed U.S. gold to trade on the London Market.
I was in the dealership service truck on the way from Reno, Nev. to the Smoky Valley Mining Company mine in Round Mountain, Nev. About 30 miles south of Austin in Big Smoky Valley suddenly I heard the jet engine and saw the first fighter come in from behind very low over my service truck. Seconds later the second fighter did the same. You can imagine how startling it was to be driving along and suddenly the noise of a jet engine comes from out of nowhere.
On subsequent trips occasionally I would see them flying down the valley barely off the ground then turn east and roll over the Toquima Mountains and out of sight. I read in the news the pilots were practicing low level radar avoidance.
