Considering the U.S. basically ended all debate and prohibited local communities from even suing to stop them from being deployed I see this as blowback for not listening to the people they supposedly represent.

Mainly latency. Most 4G communication is of a lower frequency resulting in higher latency between networked devices.

They're mainly wanting 5G due to the extremely high frequencies it uses. (60Ghz to 100Ghz) which is very very fast reducing latency down to a single millisecond. In driverless automobiles that would theoretically connect to the cloud you want as low latency as possible. Among other reasons such as first responders, as well as robotics communication within a given vicinity. It can be done via 4G but very limited due to already strained bandwidth.

okay, not sure what to make of this, but at 13:30 there's a guy saying he works at Weill Cornell Medical center, something weird happened before people in NYC got sick, says he went to work (research lab) where he's involved with comparative pathology research, works with bio-hazardous materials and radiation particles, 2 weeks ago, bunch of security guys in hazmat suits with guns (says that's never happened before), he ignored and just went to do his job. Later his boss asked him for geiger counter (he deals with radiation on 7th floor), the guy thinks something was going on with 5G, thinks that's what's making people get sick:

okay, just found this info in the comments over at Rappoport' site. Someone said that in this video from 2018, Dana Ashlie talked about 5G, and she said that when they roll it out, it's going to make people sick and then they would call it a pandemic and say we need vaccines:
