I think JQP should get down on his knees and apologize to all of us censored prisoners in this obvious CONTAINMENT FORUM then hand the server keys to brother Madfranks.

I'd do it. The forum software itself is way out of date. Understandable from a price standpoint. vBulletin isn't cheap, but from what I've read has made management a pretty simple task. The newer versions have a different interface.

But yes I agree forum registration should be reopened. With all of the new interests in gold / silver it's prime time for forums like this one to grow.

Years back we had an influx of spam bots trying to register, so JQP "temporarily" halted registration, which soon became the de facto default. Then, 6 or so months ago, JQP got a form letter from a lawyer informing him that GSUS was illegally hosting copyrighted content. Instead of either ignoring the letter or working with the lawyer (finding out what alleged content was copyrighted and removing it), JQP elected to stop image hosting on the forum. This too was supposed to be temporary, and I bet right now he could open up image hosting again without problem, but... soon enough we'll all be used to it. Jewboo is right, this really is a slum forum in the slums of the 'net. We need a new coat of paint and some flashy baubles to attract new members.

He could make me a co-admin similar to the old GIM where you had a website admin who performed more of the involved administration functions of the website so that the owner isn't the sole decision maker.

This website appears to be hosted by a company called CPanel from what I could find in the network details of the IP address for this website.

Not sure what the rates are as bandwidth plays into that as well. But this site has been here for 10 years, without JQP really driving for payment. So I do commend him a lot for that as he has provided a home for us here.

But if he's too busy to keep up with the upkeep I'll be happy to help. I sent him and Madfranks an IM about opening registration back up, MF responded pretty quickly but I have yet to get a message back from JQP....

I actually think Book would make a good Moderator on the forum, even if he does have a decade long term grudge against me. The board wouldn't be the same without him. Ares with the keys, and Franks and Book moderating. That would really help this forum.

By logic and research, you are right. But, there's major manipulation going on. I was trading the miners, NUGT and DUST, and making extra money off my trades. Gold is UP, yet NUGT crashed down to $11 a share. I cashed out before the coronavirus scare hit at $38 a share. Glad I did. You'd think DUST would have gone up, but I cashed out of that at $6 a share. It's at a $1.60 now. Both crashed, when they should be inversed.

With metals, I don't know anymore. I felt confident tracking trends but not so sure anymore. I'm glad I hold physical, I ain't selling that, but I'm not dabbling anymore with anything other than that. I'm buying and holding. The metals market is nuts.

yes, I totally agree with this--I spend every spare minute working on this and I'm constantly dropping links to this forum. I think it would really help our cause if we opened registration so like-minded people could join.
