(https://twitter.com/Barnes_Law)What did "textualist" #Barrett (https://twitter.com/hashtag/Barrett?src=hashtag_click) say in approving the broad lockdown by Illinois Governor? She used Jacobson to say in a pandemic , the court "takes off the table any general challenge to [lockdown orders]" & completely kills the Fourteenth Amendment's protection of liberty.

wtf?

Where does the constitution say that?

I'm guessing she wrote this in the capacity of a lower court and as such, they have to follow supreme court precedent. As part of the supreme court, she may have a different opinion but still, I don't like it.

Be wary of things taken out of context or misrepresented.

As a thought experiment, if there was someone really good that person would be attacked in multiple ways. Some ways to appeal to leftists, but attacked in many ways to appeal to conservatives. So its something to always be thinking of.

If I was reading the decision "correctly", it seemed the ILL GOP dropped the ball.

They should have moved that JB the Hut had no authority for the "rules". The ILL GOP went after JB for his willy nilly restrictions in his "rules".
