175,000 of each X $85.00

They are currently selling on ebay for about $250 each.

Guess I'll have to try for the next few. Everything the mint is producing this year is selling out. Big demand!
This bodes well for precious metals.

Yeah, I tried to access the site and had some in my cart but kept getting booted out. Got back in and they were sold out. Fuck it, I will sit it out and keep stacking available stuff. (Sour Grapes) Nothing is so important that it is worth getting in a twist about it. Fuck the Mint and their fucked up website. I am going to take the money and buy some old Morgans.

What measures do you take to avoid counterfeits?

Never thought about it. Didn’t know it was a problem.

Yeah, shitloads out of China. They used to be listed as counterfeits on feebay and thus were very cheap, however some are now selling the counterfeits as real Morgans and Peace dollars so be careful.

I recently took some silver 1 oz bars in to the local dealer.. I bought these in 2008. They were random bars with all kinds of weird stuff on them. The dealer weighed all 280 bars and 2 came back counterfeit. I also had some 10 oz bars from a mint and two came back as not 99.9 pure and one was counterfeit.

The dealer said she is getting more and more counterfeit coins. I would be cautious buying with out weighing.

This site may help on some of the 1oz silver.
I spotted a counterfeit SilverTowne one ounce on ebay a few months ago, I reported it to ebay and the seller about it, because I don't like to see fakes hurting the market.
The seller was a jerk about it, he pretty much told me to blow it out my ass. Ebay did nothing. It was clearly a fake. It got sold for full price.

Is it surprising that counterfeit money attracts counterfeit metal?

Years ago the U.S. helped out a Bankrupt central American country by shipping them millions of Sakawagia dollars. They proved so popular with the natives Columbia started counterfeiting them.

I never understood the desire for the newest, when plenty of older exists. One dealer told me he was out of eagles, and what he meant was out of 2021 eagles! he had a butt ton of earlier years which i gladly bought. So what exactly is the draw of the latest year? (serious question)

It's the last year before the new reverse design comes out.
