This is one of those points where the fantasy world of Hollyweird is imported into the real world.

I think I'm gonna start using the Alec Baldwin defense wherever I can.

Don't know if there is any merit but I read somewhere in comments that he was banging her. Something went wrong and she or someone threatened to tell his wife. It seemed well researched and I should have copied it at the time. I have not read anything similar since so it's being scrubbed or not true.
