Why did Legarde and Schwab go to Antartica in early December???

I don't know anything about Lagarde and Schwab going to Antartica, but it just seems like there is something weird/strange with Antarctica, I guess because there always seems to be so much secrecy, like they are hiding something. I remember years ago, Aaron Dykes and that Melissa woman (I think they are married) made an interesting video on Antarctica, but it was too long and I never finished it.

I think some say that there are signs that it used to be habitable, which means it wasn't always at the bottom of the Earth.
