My son's longtime lady friend got Lyme in the oughts. It destroyed her health. It's taken a long time for her to recover and lead a semblance of a normal life. It seems to affect everyone a little different. When I got it in the 90's, I was really sick and my joints hurt like hell. Like a bad flu. I went to a doctor in Dearborn because I happened to be visiting there and he was perplexed. He had never dealt with Lyme before and never seen the telltale bullseye mark. He gave me four days worth of Tetracycline and sent me on my way. The antibiotic worked immediately; maybe I caught it early. Don't know if those critters are still hanging out inside me to mess me up again or maybe they are responsible for some of the really strange physical anomalies I experience. In any case, Lyme is no light matter. It is almost impossible to diagnose without the telltale bullseye and it mimics a hundred other illnesses. The spirochetes are closely related to Syphilis and much of it's damage can mimic that disease.
