Why are you here?

Most of your posts are from beyond left field.

Foreign beef repackaged in the USA magically becomes USA beef.

Someone told me there was free beer.

You spend corporate money. You hold corporate jobs. You hold stock certificates claiming part ownership in corporation. You participate in corporate farming and ranching and then you ask why corporations control the markets? Or are you suggesting the situation would be better if 20 corporations control the beef market?

I'm suggesting that we ought to know where the beef we buy comes from.

I'm suggesting that we ought to know where the beef we buy comes from.

The principle is called Jus Soli. Your body gets it's nutrition from the soil. Now you rely upon grocery stores for all your food and it's origin might be anywhere in the world. The question then becomes Which soil do my rights derive from? and the answer is murky.

When I was raised mostly we lived out of the garden. So say for 80% of our nutrition we could pinpoint precisely the origin of jus Soli. Still produce a garden but likely this only provides 20% of our nutrition.

For beef and pork we used to slaughter one Holstein and several hogs annually. Again we knew precisely where they came from because we raised them.

Knowing where your food comes from is largely symbolic. There is no rule that I know of that makes it mandatory to know where your food comes from. It is just common sense. The world is short on common sense.
