Lies are creations. The question is who creates them.

Hobbes informs us that a sound is determined by the hearer converting a pressure impulse at his ear to a series of electrical impulses that is interpreted by the brain to be a sound.

Some series of sounds are interpreted as TRUE. Other series of sounds are interpreted as FALSE. There is no organ of the body other than the EAR that intercepts these impulses. The EAR operates on PRESENT impulses. It apparently has no memory of PAST impulses. Memory is a function of the brain.

And the concept of an EAR operating on FUTURE impulses is beyond comprehension

Back to the question:. Who creates a LIE? What are the elements of a LIE? Which organ of the body has been designed/designated as a LIE DETECTOR? Is the one originating the series of pressure impulses interpreted as LIES to be labeled a LIAR because the one intercepting the pressure impulses classify them as LIES?

If a LIE is spoken in the woods with no one around to hear is it still a lie?

Anticipating an answer to the previous question if there is no hearer is there still a LIE? Does it follow that the hearer is a vital element to the action of LYING?

Juries are charged with discriminating TRUTH from LIES. Isn't the concept worth investigating a bit? Your life might be at stake in the investigation.
