Custom says the first nite you stay as a stranger. The second nite you stay as invited guest. After this your status is aghenhine.

Research on this word suggests that the householder was then responsible for the actions of the converted stranger/guest.

Teacher Hid ‘Missing’ Boy in Her Home for Two Years, Police Say

A California public school teacher has been arrested after police say she hid a teenager who had been reported missing for two years, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said.

Holga Castillo Olivares, 61, faces charges of detention of a minor with the intent to conceal from a parent(s) and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, police said.

Custom established the household as a trust and a surety for the actions of it's members. As far as I know there were no age restrictions to engage in stranger/guest/aghenhine status. In other words it applies to minors and adults.

Where the aghenhine systems fails is when prior obligations and duties are considered. If you are a slave attempting to escape a master and a household sheltered you for two years likely the household could and would be charged with a crime. So can we look at a minor most likely encumbered with the obligation of a Birth Certificate as a slave?

Hospitality can be fatal since the U.S. abolished slavery by making everyone a slave. Stay safe out there and try to be less hospitable to minors.
