I'm unable to find the video now however recently some westerner in China posted a video he recorded in Shanghai showing that there were no crowds lined up at the hundreds of 'fever centers' in Shanghai, only one fever center had a line and that line wasn't more than ten people long.

reuters.com: New COVID model predicts over 1 million deaths in China (https://www.reuters.com/world/china/new-covid-model-predicts-over-1-mln-deaths-china-through-2023-2022-12-17/)

December 16, 2022
(Reuters) - China's abrupt lifting of stringent COVID-19 restrictions could result in an explosion of cases and over a million deaths through 2023, according to new projections from the U.S.-based Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME)...

The independent modeling group at the University of Washington in Seattle, which has been relied on by governments and companies throughout the pandemic, drew on provincial data and information from a recent Omicron outbreak in Hong Kong...

For its forecasts, IHME also uses information on vaccination rates provided by the Chinese government as well as assumptions on how various provinces will respond as infection rates increase.

China is likely experiencing 1 million Covid infections and 5,000 virus deaths every day as it grapples with what is expected to be the biggest outbreak the world has ever seen, according to a new analysis.

The situation could get even worse for the country of 1.4 billion people. This current wave may see the daily case rate rise to 3.7 million in January, according to Airfinity Ltd., a London-based research firm that focuses on predictive health analytics and has been tracking the pandemic since it first emerged. There’ll likely then be another surge of infections that will push the daily peak to 4.2 million in March, the group estimated.

Its modeling of the scale and toll of China’s outbreak, which uses provincial data, shows the impact of the country’s abrupt pivot away from Covid Zero far exceeds the government’s tally.

Using the trends in regional data our team of epidemiologists has forecast the first peak to be in regions where cases are currently rising and a second peak driven by later surges in other Chinese provinces.

The Airfinity model estimates cases rates could reach 3.7 million a day in a January peak and 4.2 million a day in March 2023.

Today, our model suggests that there is likely to be over one million cases a day in China and over 5,000 deaths a day. This is in stark contrast to the official data
airfinity.com/about (https://www.airfinity.com/about)

Founded in 2015, the original idea behind Airfinity was to systematically capture and structure the new science disseminated at conferences, a highly fragmented dataset. However, through working with medical associations and pharma companies, Airfinity learned that there are bigger, more urgent questions the industry as a whole is struggling to answer: what is happening in a given therapy area right now and what is potentially next? Scientific conferences are an important source of this information, but only one among many. As a company, we realised that as an increasing amount of data became open and novel RWE data sources emerged, there was an opportunity to improve the intelligence driving key decisions in the life science space by not only connecting and linking these disparate and complex data sources but through advanced data science transform them into real-time actionable insights.

In 2017, we significantly expanded our data collection capabilities and in 2019 started offering a broader science intelligence solution with the aim of building the one go-to-place for real-time, predictive health analytics...

When COVID-19 emerged in early 2020, we quickly saw that our proprietary technology and expertise perfectly positioned us to help the world better navigate an unprecedented situation. Across a sleepless few months the company built the world's first dedicated COVID-19 health analytics and intelligence platform which is now the trusted source of decision makers and media globally.

The Chinese government’s official statistics nonetheless do not show any significant spike in cases or deaths. As of Thursday, Beijing claimed to have documented seven coronavirus deaths this week, leaving unclear why such a death rate would result in long lines at funeral homes and overflowing morgues.

The Airfinity study suggested that the true death rate as a result of the virus spreading in the country currently was closer to 5,000 deaths a day in a publication this week. Airfinity also estimated that 1 million new people were being infected by the virus in China a day.

“China has stopped mass testing and is no longer reporting asymptomatic cases. The combination means the official data is unlikely to be a true reflection of the outbreak being experienced across the country,” Louise Blair, Airfinity head of vaccines and epidemiology, said.

Bloomberg on Friday claimed to be privy to Chinese National Health Commission documents showing that the regime believed that somewhere around 37 million people in China had been infected with the virus just this week. The report also claimed that 248 million people had been infected between December 1-20.

Multiple reports citing unnamed sources within China suggest that unexplained deaths are rising among prominent Communist Party leaders and other national elites. The anti-communist Epoch Times newspaper reported on Friday that at least ten “famous Chinese medical experts” had died this month from unspecified “illness,” not tallied among the seven identified as dead from coronavirus infections this week.

December 23, 2022
As many as 248 million people, or nearly 18% of the population, likely contracted the virus in the first 20 days of December, according to minutes from an internal meeting of China’s National Health Commission held on Wednesday, confirmed with people involved in the discussions. If accurate, the infection rate would dwarf the previous daily record of about 4 million, set in January 2022...

How the Chinese health regulator came up with its estimate is unclear, as the country shut down its once ubiquitous network of PCR testing booths earlier this month. Precise infection rates have been difficult to establish in other countries during the pandemic, as hard-to-get laboratory tests were supplanted by home testing with results that weren’t centrally collected.

The NHC didn’t respond to a request for comment faxed by Bloomberg News. The commission’s newly founded National Disease Control Bureau, which overseas the Covid response, also didn’t respond to phone calls and faxes on Friday.

Remember how the hospitals in New York City were all "overcrowded" (not) in early 2020? Shanghai's fever clinics are all "overcrowded" (not) like that today!
Just as people throughout China were NOT "dropping dead of COVID in the streets" at the beginning of this nightmare, so are they NOT "overrunning" fever clinics now, despite this "new" Big Lie

At this point, I just assume everything is BS until proven otherwise
