BREAKING: The FDIC is already on site at First Republic Bank trying to determine the best path forward to protect depositors. Things are moving way faster than expected given the accelerating bank run that has already reached a tipping point.

I've got a tin theory...

If the common folks are now buying treasuries in lieu of bank deposits due to current rates and what the banks have to hold without booking the loss, could this be the last drain before they crash the currency.

What would the time frame need to be to get most of the bigger non connected players playing the spread in treasury duration? What would the time frame be for grandma to get out of bank cd's and buy direct?

Once the "people" are the biggest holder of the debt, crash the currency and bankrupt them all? They are not holding cash. They are holding digital bonds in an account.

I think what it will boil down to this time is if THEY try to save the banks the USD will enter a deathspiral of rapid devaluation. If they don’t try to save the banks the financial system will collapse and economy will deathspiral, USD would be very strong though. No matter what they decide to do you get fucked though…
