Recent events demonstrate the need to preserve important stuff we find on the internet. Two FREE programs I found to help are linked above.

NEWEST YOUTUBE VIDEO STANDARDS

Container = MP4

Video Encoding = H.264/MPEG-4 AVC

Aspect Ratio = 16:9

Resolution = 1280 x 720 widescreen

HQ18 = fmt value 18 (specs 480 x 360. 30fps, 512kbps video AVC, 128kbps audio AAC, 44.1khz stereo)

Container = MP4

Video Encoding = H.264/MPEG-4 AVC

NEWEST YOUTUBE AUDIO STANDARD

Audio Encoding - AAC

2-Channel Stereo

Sample Rate = 44100

Notice that the newest .MP4 format is now preferred at Youtube and Google Videos:

HQ18 and HQ22 wide screen. DownloadHelper now makes this a simple selection option for download.

DVD Flick makes it easy and simple to drag numerous downloaded Youtube video clips onto a list then burn them all together into one continuous DVD movie.

Blank DVDs now cost less than one dollar and DVD Flick is the only software you need to create these video archives.

When the internet goes down you can have the important stuff already archived.

Yeah, I learned this lesson with some not so important vids. The 7th and 8th season of Ask This Old House on youtube. I figured it would be there and then BAM it was wiped out. Lucily, I found them elsewhere and then archived them.

Now, when I find something important I DL it straight away.

I've been wanting to put together a HTML presentation that I can store on USB flash memory sticks. Something that presents a good case for why people should not turn away when they hear the word Jew/Zionist.

Can anyone recomend the best html editor?

I've been looking at DreamWeaver, but it is so expensive, especially for a one time job. There is also MicroSoft Expression standard which is $140 not too bad.

I would like to have links to self-contained video's that would play even if the person is a complete computer idiot.

Bigjon drop 'k-os' a line and ask her. She does it all day. She uses Dreamweaver but hand codes everything. I used to write a lot, but not much in the last 7 years.

The problem with using a editor is that it fills the document with so much junk code. You can use MS Word of even OpenOffice as a editor. If you are going to repeat a lot of stuff then you will want to use 'php' and CSS also.

k-os will be back sometime tomorrow night or Monday the latest.
