Was checkin out some of Iron's bullion in a pic awhile back and noticed he had em in airtights, sort of did the same thing with mine. Below is link for sizes of most common coinage, world wide. Makes it easier to find correct size. Yes, 1mm to small makes a differance, if you have ever tried to force one in, you know.

I do not use many air-tights. The only time that I use any air-tights is when I have a silver art bar that I want to preserve its current look. There are air-tights that are made for 1-oz silver bars. Most of my regular silver art bar collection is in the flaps. I know that this is not the same as using an airtight but also I use a Dansko album to put some of my favorite silver art bars in them. I like to have a "book" of some of my best '70's silver art bar finds.

I have a few air-tights left just in case I find a silver art bar in the future that I love so much or that has a very high rarity value in that I want to preserve it. I also have a few airtites to fit silver art rounds that are either 39mm or 40 mm in diameter.

What, in your opinion, is your highest rarity silver art bar you've found so far?

When opening an airtight to get a coin out, do so over a soft surface, lest the coin pop out, land hard, and get scratched. Same with slabbed coins. Best to sit down and open it over a lint-free jewelers cloth or something similar.

That is a tough question because I found several silver art bars with very high rarity values at my local dealer and at coin shows. I think that the highest rarity value silver art bar that I found and currently have in my collection is one of my Coca-Cola silver art bars that I picked up at my local dealer in late March. I have to check my Coca-Cola art bar guide book to see what the rarity values are on the Coke art bars that I have. Based on what I have seen in the past on ebay, these coke bars can fetch from $40 to $100 (or more) on ebay.

I paid $25 for most of the Coke bars that bought locally. Spot was between $16.50 and $17.00 during the time that I bought most of those Coke art bars. On a relative basis, $25 is not a bad price when you take into consideration, that most of the Coke bars on ebay are selling for much more than $25 on ebay. Coca-Cola silver art bars are very hard to find locally and even when you find one, they are usually priced at a very high price.

For me personally, from the time that I started seriously collecting silver art bars in August 2008 to the present time, the lowest price that I paid for a Coca-Cola silver art bar was $17 and the highest price that I paid for a Coca-Cola silver art bar was $30. All of my Coca-Cola art bar finds were all local purchases (either local dealer or coin show). I do not bother with ebay because I do not want to pay the high prices for silver Coke bars on ebay. I will not pay more than $30 for a silver Coca-Cola art bar.
