Holy smokes, Ken
What has happened to the position of authority lately?
It is constantly being challenged, but I think mostly because it is corrupt.
Horn's Post got me thinking......
Most of us know this world is Corrupted.
But it seems to be getting worse.
Is it just me, or do others think its getting worse?
(i couldn't find how to do a poll)

I think it's getting worse too, Ken. :-\
But as the saying goes, it's gotta get worse before it gets better.

Authority is always a good study. It is important to know who the authority is.
There are always various chains of authority. There are authorities within a company, in a social group, in governments, etc.
Ultimately, there is one true authority above all others. Scientists look for the unified field theory in hopes of discovering the ultimate formula for all laws of nature. They are missing the point. The central command of all laws is God.
If you want to believe there is no God, that is fine. You can also believe there is no gravity or gamma rays or sub-atomic particles. Beliefs don't determine reality but incorrect beliefs can blind us to reality. This is the dilemma of mankind.
If there is a God, and He says there is good and evil, then we have to conclude that there are good and evil chains of authority. You cannot take evil men and form a good chain of authority. It just so happens that all men are inherently evil and only by the power of God's Spirit working in this enemy kingdom can any good be accomplished.

It's a much better climate when authority can be and IS challenged regularly.
That's why this forum is much better already than the previous one.

- Mankind, when left to themselves, are unfit for their own government.

That is EXACTLY the lie that the devil told Eve (Hawwah) in the garden before the fall of man.
A man who is his own master has a fool for a master.

Authority is for the lazy, unruly and corrupt men. Civilized men rarely have need for it.

A man who is his own master has a fool for a master.
Therefore, only a fool would be a master of anyone.
