That dog looks like it could dig all your PMs up in your back yard.

(saying that you have a back yard full of PMs)

Hehe sadly the above posted picture is indeed a skillful Photoshop. However this beautiful fellow is indeed the legitimate world’s tallest dog (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8529620.stm)

Once I get home I’ll post some photos of my German and East German Sheppard’s Sinbad and Maximus, as well as the newest addition to the family a female Dalmatian-Staffy cross called Dotty. Imaginative names i know :D but we love them to bits.

This is my DOG named Silver. It is a German Shepherd. I do not have to feed it. I do not have to take it out for a walk. It does not crap in my apartment and the best thing about my DOG is that I can pet (fondle) it without fear of it biting my hand off. This is what I call a "low maintenence" DOG. ;D

I have two dogs Trixie is a maltese and Bitty a half daschund half chihuahua. They are about 10 lbs a piece, Trixie doesn't have a mean bone in her body (she thinks she is a human) and Bitty is very nice to people but other dogs she thinks she is a pitbull or something (thankfully all the dogs run instead of eating her in one bite) she is very fast and agile and killed a squirrel in our front yard it was hilarious because she had it draping out of both sides of her mouth and it was so heavy for her, her back legs were coming off the ground. ;D But she was super proud of it she paraded around like a mighty warrior.

I love animals but especially good dogs.

Imacannin, I am so sorry to hear that you lost your best friend. I know the day will come when I have to say goodbye to each of my fur babies, but I don't think anything can ever really prepare you.

Your story really opened up my eyes to something, though, and I want to thank you for sharing. My boy, Bit is the only one of my dogs who stays out all day. He likes to patrol the yard and be the man of the house. He has undiagnosed breathing problems also. He had a stroke in February, but has recovered about 90% from that. The vets couldn't ever tell me why he coughs so much. I figured he was allergic to the grass.

Can you share the type of herbs you used to help Gus?

So sad to hear the news Ima. Here's a classic for you & Gus:

[color=purple]
The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet
goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special
friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water
and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals that had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor.
Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we
remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy
and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special
to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops
and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body
quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green
grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy
kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and
you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from
your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

big country
10th May 2010, 05:27 AM
He is VERY well mannered. He listens as well as you can expect an 11 mo old dog, knows come and sit and stay and all the common commands. If he's really into something though he still chooses if he's gonna listen to you (trying to fix that).

He can get really hyper at certain parts of the day, he's mostly indoors with us so we have to get him out and get the energy run off. My wife takes him to a park nearly everyday where he can go off leash (not legal but we do it) in a baseball diamond. He runs ALL OUT for about 10 minutes then he's laying down in the grass and tired...for the rest of the day. He's calm after that, but if we don't exercise him like that then he's quite a handful.

I put them (beers) down on the floor by the fridge for her. I think opening the fridge door is "advanced get beer" and we haven't even started on that yet.

I can show her a coin and switch it between hands and show it to her again, close my hand and she will pick the hand that has the coin also. I need to find some other tricks for her. All she wants to do is catch frisbees and do tricks. She is an awesome fun doggy.

We do walks to the mailbox sometimes, about a half mile walk each way. The mailbox is on a road that gets traffic. She was held back a couple times to keep her from the road, now she just stops and sits there about 10 yards from the road when I go grab the mail. I don't tell her anything.

She also goes to bed whenever you tell her "go to bed".

But when anyone new and friendly comes over, after she is done barking the daylights out, she jumps all over them. We haven't found the fix for that yet. I think it's two years as labs go...heh.

Best dog I have ever had and she's our little baby. I need to find new tricks for her. She will roll over, give you five, jump and twist in the air, sit, down, stay, fetch about anything, and then get you a beer. I should marry her.

Rottweiler in Michigan gets new leash on life after botched euthanasia attempt

REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A suburban Detroit man whose Rottweiler was given a new leash on life after surviving a botched euthanasia said he has neither the heart nor the money to try the procedure again.

Redford Township resident Matt Olivarez, 27, said he's in a tough spot: facing possible home foreclosure while at the same time trying to do right by Mia, an 11-year-old pooch that he feeds by hand, partly because of her spinal problem that makes walking difficult.

Olivarez said he took Mia to the Westcott Veterinary Care Center in Detroit on Saturday to alleviate her suffering. He said Westcott officials speculated afterward that the drug dosage wasn't strong enough or had been watered down.

He now shudders at the thought of almost burying his beloved pet alive.

"I don't know if I could do it a second time," Olivarez told The Detroit News for a story published Wednesday.

Olivarez said he returned to his garage Sunday morning and noticed Mia missing from where he'd placed her on a pile of hay the day before. He'd planned to bury her in his grandfather's backyard.

Instead, he turned to find her standing on all fours, staring at him.

"Are you still my dog?" he said, saying he felt like he was living a scene from one of the scary movies he enjoys. "It was like a scene from 'Pet Sematary.'"

Olivarez purchased Mia, the only member of her litter to survive, around the time his first child was born. She was intended to be a companion for his sons, now 8 and 9. Olivarez tried to explain Mia's resurrection to them Tuesday night.

"It's crazy," he said. "It's not something I planned for."

Meanwhile, Olivarez is seeking a new owner who can give Mia proper care.

"I'll keep her until I figure something out," he said.

Missy is a miniature schnauzer, a breed that is both ferocious and cute.

Sad to see all the lost pics. I was searching earlier for the top-knot doc's dog pics (tongue-twister for those inclined) before I brought our mini-schn. to the groomer for the first time.

Well, the transformation is truly amazing. The previous owner had groomed him herself, and we had not taken him in to be groomed since we got him last month. He looked so 'bald' on his tummy, etc. But, his eyes were hardly recognizable. Too much hair.

I can't upload pics, but you wouldn't even think it was the same dog if you saw the before/after pics. Truly incredible.

We laughed all day, 'he's seeing our house for the first time'; 'he can see'; 'he doesn't run into things'! The summer buzz-cut definitely did his spirits good. I think he may be liking us after all his mopiness from being displaced.
