George Soros has brought together a crack team of the world's top economists and financial thinkers. Its aim: To remake the world's economy as they see fit.

The New Institute of Economic Thinking is to be centered in London, but also fund programs around the world, the first of which will be in Oxford.

In order to reinvent economic thinking, he's brought together a crack team of top economic minds.

They're a "Justice League" if you will.

I found this alleged "quote" a little implausible for Soros to utter publicly, so I searched it. Top hit is this article,

...which has a section subtitled with that quote, reads:


But what about America? Soros told Australia’s national newspaper “The Australian” “America, as the centre of the globalised financial markets, was sucking up the savings of the world.

“Destroying America will be the culmination of my life’s work.”
Soros also told “The Australian” that the world financial crisis was “stimulating” and “in a way, the culmination of my life’s work.”

Stimulating. Have you found the job losses, house foreclosures, and incredible national debt—stimulating? Me neither.

So off hand, it looks like the author took liberties in attributing that "quote" to Soros.

and got nothing.

Can anyone else find something definitive about that "quote"?

The article above also refs the 60 Minutes Soros/Kroft interview. I searched video.google.com, then www.cbsnews.com for 'Soros Kroft', and there's no trace of it I found! I know it happened, I recall messageboard discussion of it at the time! Down the memory hole?
