We may have to get a couple outdoor cats.

Our last one disappeared about 5 or 6 months ago.

And now we are being over run by field mice!

Kinda cool seeing all the Rabbits come back though.

Kinda sad to know the coyotes will get the cats eventually. :(

But thats nature, I guess. And thats why we need two. A male and a female.

Got Cats?

People in the desert usually keep cats because of the snakes. Cats don't eat snakes, they eat cat food. Then they play with mice. Mice don't like to be played with, so they go away. Snakes eat mice, so the snakes go wherever the mice went. And that is why we keep cats in the desert.

On the other hand, a dog will go find a snake and bark at it until it bites him. So it's hard to keep a dog.

Typically I don't like cats much, to snobby for me.

But we had a cat named TC (Trail Cat) that would follow our horses on trail rides, you would look back and see two dogs and TC ;D

She lasted quite awhile before something got her or she took off but I presume the former.

TC was a helluva good cat.

I like this video of cowboys herding cats in ranch country. They look and act like people I live and work around.

Some cats LIKE mice. Or at least put up with them!

I heard a ruckus on the hardwood floor in the living room this morning. I figured it was the cats playing like they usually do.
Then the youngest cat came running into the office. So i walked out to see what was going on. I saw our Big gray cat on the floor having a seizure and foaming a bit at the mouth :'(

I didn't know what to do! I thought he was dieing...Man that did not feel good. :'(
He has always been healthy with no problems. It didn't last very much longer (20 more seconds)
He woke up scared and I comforted him and wiped the foam of of his mouth.
within ten minutes he was fine but in a very loving mood....still is.
and he is getting all the love and attention he wants today :)

We've been reading and it seems it is not as uncommon as I thought.
and sometimes only happen once in a cats life.

Hopefully it won't happen again :-\

My cat is very curious. She's always exploring something.

My cat was my best friend. When he died at 17, I was crushed. All the combined lifetime heartache caused by women in my life doesn`t compare to that. I may get another cat someday...

Stacker, your big gray cat appears to be a Russian Blue. I have one that I adopted a few years ago. I didn't know I had a pure breed until someone told me and I looked them up. My Russian Blue is named Cooper and he weighs 25# which is 10# less than he weighed when I got him.

My other cat was a rescue that has a unpredictably foul temperament. She is very good, though so she gets to stay.
