I have them all on DVD. I like the very first episode in black and white (the only one in b&w I believe), even the intro is different.

My son (11 years old) got a DVD collection of old Hogan's Heroes episodes from the local library. He LOVED this decades-old show, about as much as I did as a kid growing up.

I still enjoy watching Hogan, have it on DVD.
A few years ago they were going to make a Hogan's Heroes movie, but the jewish groups got upset because they thought they were making light of the German's in WWII, and it was disrespectful to the holocaust.

Didn't they base the series off the movie "Stalag 17 ?"

Thats just stupid, I dont remember any shows where it even touched on that matter. Idont rember al their real names,Two Germans were stars in he show Klink and Schultz, Both were actual Germans, along with SS Major Hochsteder (Austrian) and actual veterans of WWII , LeBeau was actually a prisoner in a German POW camp! If those guys made the show that good and actually experienced internment, what right does the Jewish groups have judging it?

I wholeheartly agree. I had an argument with a jewish colleague on the subject. He thought it was wrong that they would make likeable characters out of Nazis. In his mind they were all evil.
I'll bet the real reason for the opposition was that whomever pitched the idea wasn't jewish.
