Further proof that the people in DC think money grows on trees.

Good story.
I wonder how many test sites they went to ?
I believe Jordan exports sand and cement, why not get it from them ?
UAE And Qatar both host US war bases, I don't think Jordan does.
Sounds like a weak excuse to bribe some of our "Allies".

This is similar to my line of thinking . . . greasing the wheels of allies. Regardless, it's absurd.

It could be that there is some deception going on with this sand. Maybe they need clean imported sand to cover up evidence of the use of weapons they don't want anyone to know they are using.

I have seen aerial photos of Fallujah that looked like complete devastation. I remember reading stories of how trucks came in and removed sand and rubble in the area. I would not be at all surprised if they used some kinds on nuclear weapons there. Also, I have heard that the Baghdad airport was the target of a neutron bomb. Iraqi sand may be too radioactive to use in blast walls to protect anything.

Sand - one penny per pound

Transportation - $50.00 per ton

DOD contract to deliver said sand = $1,000 per ton
