View Full Version : KFC - Double Down Sandwich - no room for bread

Ok, today was the first day the KFC's in my area offered the Double Down - basically two chicken breasts (fried or grilled) stuck together with cheese and bacon between them.

To be fair, it does deliver on its promise - what seemed like a pound of greasy chicken with melted cheese and bacon. (Heart attack special).

The "sandwich" was ok - the mix of spicy seasoned chicken and bacon probably could not be screwed up.

At $5.50 a pop it was a little to pricey for me (a price sensitive shopper) - and to be honest, at 21 I could have handled the massive dump of fried protein. At 45, let's say the GI tract is no amused with the repast!

I'll give it 4 out of 5 stars - good, but too much for an old fart!

Gad, that looks disgusting.

4 out of 5 stars? Seems a bit generous.

Have you noticed that the advertisements on TV now don't even care if the food looks tasty? When I see those commercials, I often say, "You've got to be joking me!"

I like how everybody thinks some white bread would make this thing MORE healthy.

If you were going to eat two chicken bacon sammiches anyway, then this is a healthier alternative.
