Get out of Jail (Gender) Free

A group of prisoners in Wisconsin is paying their debt to society-but not before you pay their debt for transgender therapy. Hello, I'm Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. Thanks to an activist judge, the Wisconsin Department of Corrections is now the Department of Gender Corrections. In an outrageous ruling last week, a federal court struck down a state law that bans taxpayer-funded hormone therapy. And these aren't your average hormones. They're drugs designed to help men look and sound like women. With help from the ACLU, five cross-dressing criminals took the jail to court for refusing to pay for their treatments. And according to District Judge Charles Clevart, it's treatment they have a constitutional right to. What next-taxpayer-funded sex change operations? And, more importantly, how soon until the new health care law makes us all pay for such "treatments?" Or does it already? They call them raging hormones, and now we know why. Because paying for them makes people fighting mad.

This IMO is just more non-sense to me. Taxpayers are going to end up paying for it one way or the other and more than likely the Obamacare bill is going force taxpayers to pay for this among many other things that taxpayers do not want to pay for. As long as the gov't has the "gun" pointed at the taxpayers' head, then the gov't will make the taxpayers pay for whatever the gov't wants to them to pay for.

I think you are right Artie. I think Obamacare will be paying for stuff like that.
and other things that taxpayers don't want to pay for.

Yep. I think your right.

really sad.

Obama says that the taxes of the "rich" (i.e people making over $200,000/year) but the sobering reality of this is that EVERYBODY's taxes will eventually increase because of Obamacare among other things. I do not think that it is possible to cover everybody and every single medical procedure without suffering the consequences. The gov't "fix" to solving the problem of people getting insurance is just going to make the problem worse.

This ruling about taxpayers being forced to fund hormone therapy treatments will make it less affordable for people (mainly non-prisoner's) to get hormone therapy treatments.

I did not know that getting hormone therapy treatments was a constitutional right.
