Get out of Jail (Gender) Free
A group of prisoners in Wisconsin is paying their debt to society-but not before you pay their debt for transgender therapy. Hello, I'm Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. Thanks to an activist judge, the Wisconsin Department of Corrections is now the Department of Gender Corrections. In an outrageous ruling last week, a federal court struck down a state law that bans taxpayer-funded hormone therapy. And these aren't your average hormones. They're drugs designed to help men look and sound like women. With help from the ACLU, five cross-dressing criminals took the jail to court for refusing to pay for their treatments. And according to District Judge Charles Clevart, it's treatment they have a constitutional right to. What next-taxpayer-funded sex change operations? And, more importantly, how soon until the new health care law makes us all pay for such "treatments?" Or does it already? They call them raging hormones, and now we know why. Because paying for them makes people fighting mad.
