BENSALEM, Pa. – A former sergeant who headed a Pennsylvania police department's sex crimes unit is accused
of sexually assaulting a woman inside a township building.
Forty-one-year-old Michael Marren is accused of sexually assaulting a woman March 9
inside the Bensalem Rescue Squad's headquarters. He was arraigned Monday.
Police say Marren, a part-time medic, followed the woman into a restroom and assaulted her after a night of drinking.
They say the woman was found curled up and crying in a closet following the assault.
Court documents say Marren told investigators he rebuffed the woman's advances.
Marren was fired from the Bensalem Police Department late last month.
A phone message left with Marren's attorney early Tuesday was not immediately returned.
