Just want to add that in the top chart that GDP is artificially inflated the last couple of years with around 10% deficit spending, at the same time a lot of consumer and mortgage debt has been kept of banks books, and thus not in the statistics. So in reality the debt levels in relation to real GDP may be even higher by 20-30%...

Further the last foreclosure chart has been hampered by the many properties kept off the book, so if banks would have moved in on loan delinquants as they did before the number of foreclosure would have been way higher .. Probably over a million per quarter, the last year!
