A lot of people really seem to be into the stuff that the Canadian Mint, the Perth Mint, China or the RAM crank out but I've recently been getting into some of the great coins that France is putting out.

My first exposure to monnaie de paris was when I discovered their Hello Kitty series which I bought for my daughter. Then I found some small gold coins and now I'm hooked.

Any thoughts on some of the French coins?

Here's a really neat silver round from the Monnaie de Paris, it's to commemorate the Eiffel tower, and the coin actually has a hole shaped like the tower in the round!

What I don't like about it, is that neither the weight or the purity of the silver is stamped anywhere on the coin, otherwise I would think about picking one up!

The Hello Kitty coins! lol I remember those! hahaha. Very cute.

The Paris Mint is a complete sellout, but at least they realize it and continue to make interesting products. I like them a lot more than most of the other large mints, only because you never know what they're going to produce.

Remember the Un Ultime Franc, the last French Franc ever? The coin wasn't even flat!
