HooooOOOOoo WEEEEeee!!!

Lookie allll dem mudbugs!!

These pictures were taken on Hwy 12 between Starks and Deweyville on the sides of the road. The water was high and after the dam gates at Toledo Bend were closed the water started going down and this is what it looks like. People are on the sides of the highway using a dip net loading up everything they can get their hands on.
(Texas/Louisiana border)

Jesus, talk about unappetizing. A large, shelled, amphibious insect called a "mudbug". Probably tastes good with butter though, as everything does.

crawdad's :) Never seen them like that though!! yikes!

I've never eaten one either, but I've used them for bait, caught a bass and eaten that! hah!

You guys don't know what you're missing!

They taste better than shrimp!

The flesh is much firmer- Think baby lobsters.

Garlic, Cloves, Onions, Slap Yo Momma Cajun Seasoning....

Had a bunch last week. PERFECT!

That's funny, I just ran the Mudbug 5k in Hernando, MS last weekend. 25 minutes but I'm an old fuck...had to stop and grease the wheels on my stroller.
