I can surely say this article resonates, I seldom read books anymore, just amazon reviews of books!

Is Google Making Us Stupid? (http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2008/07/is-google-making-us-stupid/6868/)

the irony is, how LONG that article is. After the first several paragraphs, I found myself skimming it! Jump to the last paragraph, might be true what he says about movie "2001 A Space Odyssey" and the points about HAL, & AI.

also see,

Do we not read as much anymore because the Internet has sapped our attention spans? (http://www.teleread.org/2010/02/11/do-we-not-read-as-much-anymore-because-the-internet-has-sapped-our-attention-spans/)

^^ much more manageable length.

Yep...........they want to create a new house with only 10 bricks when it really takes 10,000 of them.

Remember the story of the tree piggy's?.........get ready to be blown away.

You have any photos of those tree piggies? :):) Just kidding..

Actually I think goog has helped me find lots of info fast.. I like that about it. Although I may not pick up a book as much anymore I probably do a lot more reading on the net overall than I would have otherwise done without the net. Not all attributed to goog but the net in general has provided lots of good info fast.

I am guilty also of reading less "real" books, here I can read what I want, watch the newest movies and series..........haven't turn on my TV in the last two months.

I think that the above is a picture of the future.........like newspapers where many of them are now gone.

About the future...........we will be paying a lot more for what we see here on the internet...........and it will be controlled.

I think it is too late for Google to make people stupid... TV, schools and prescription drugs did that a long long time ago...
