I didn't post much at the old GIM, but I did learn a lot. I have always been cheap, but as I learned more about banking and how it works I just got to a point where I didn't want to participate anymore.

Friday was my tipping point. That is the day I finally had enough money (liquidity) to pay off my last debt, my mortgage. It would take a few days to call in all the monies and consolidate them into one account, and a few more days for the final check to clear, but essentially the hardest part is done.

Thanks members for your post and helping me learn along the way.

Congrats!

It still hasn't completely sunken in for me. Mrs. Old actually said that I could "buy some more gold."

You and oldmansmith should get together and have a block party! ;D

(I'd join you, but DF day for me happened 7 years ago.)

Alumni are always welcomed at my block parties!

Feels good. Now I can lose my job and not have to worry. Heck I and my wife could lose our jobs and not have to worry. I'd have to work, but now my overhead is so low I really wouldn't have to make that much money to pay for food (and yes, property tax as well). Heck I could go on welfare and probably have enough money to live comfortably.

I for one do and very happy to do so........we have the best roads in the US and some of the best schools in the nation.........paying only $560.00 a year for that is a bargain when compared to CA where I was paying $1,850 to "educate" the illegals.
