Vitamin D reduces diabetes risk by 43 percent - is there anything this vitamin can't do?

http://www.naturalnews.com/028659_vitamin_D_diabetes.html

(NaturalNews) A team from Warwick Medical School in the U.K. has found that people who maintain healthy vitamin D levels are 43 percent less likely to get heart disease or diabetes. After evaluating 28 different studies conducted on nearly 100,000 people, researchers concluded that people who eat oily fish two or three times a week and five servings of fruits and vegetables a day are able to achieve healthy levels of vitamin D.

While the team evaluated only natural sources of vitamin D, including from sunlight exposure and consumption of oily fish like tuna, salmon, and mackerel, it is probable that supplementation with natural vitamin D3 would prove to have the same effect.

Published in the journal Maturitas, the study revealed that high levels of vitamin D reduce the risk of developing cardiovascular disease by 33 percent, metabolic syndrome by 51 percent, and type-2 diabetes by an astounding 55 percent.

According to Dr. Johanna Parker, one of the study authors, sunlight exposure is the best way to get vitamin D. "People should expose themselves for 30 minutes twice a week – this means exposing the face and arms with no sunscreen. This would provide the body with adequate vitamin D," she explained.

Some experts recommend getting sunlight exposure every single day, especially in the summer when the sun delivers the most ultraviolet (UV) rays which produce vitamin D in the skin. Twenty minutes of sunlight exposure on a summer day can produce a healthy 20,000 IU of vitamin D in the skin, delivering optimal protection from all kinds of diseases.

Last summer, a study published in Diabetes Educator also found that vitamin D helps to prevent diabetes and can even help those who already have the disease. "Vitamin D has widespread benefits for our health and certain chronic diseases in particular," said Sue Penckofer, Ph.D., R.N., and co-author of that study.

It appears that people who have diabetes are generally low in vitamin D, which is also the case with many other diseases. Since vitamin D-deficiency and serious illness are so closely related, many medical professionals are advising people to have their levels checked to be sure they fall within a healthy range. More often than not, people who are acutely ill are deficient in the necessary vitamin.

If one is deficient in the vitamin, it is best to get more sunlight exposure, eat foods with vitamin D, and supplement with vitamin D3 in order to achieve optimal levels.

So studies showing a one time supplement of vitamin D reduces hospitalized dying from Covid-19 by 81%, longer term vitamin D reduces diabetes rick by 43%, diabetes being one of the main co-factors of Covid-19 mortality. Additionally vitamin D helps reduce symptoms of disease associated with vaccination.

Our results came in line with similar meta-analyses that put the risk of COVID-19 mortality among patients with diabetes compared with COVID-19 patients without diabetes between 1.75 and 2.68 and showed moderate to high degrees of heterogeneity between their studies.17–20 In conclusion, our results confirmed the previous findings indicating that COVID-19 patients with diabetes were highly vulnerable to a lethal outcome.

elis.sk: The prognostic significance of vitamin D deficiency in patients with COVID-19 pneum (http://www.elis.sk/download_file.php?product_id=7390)onia

This study was undertaken at the tertiary chest disease and surgery training hospital with the inclusion of patients admitted to our unit between 01 Sep 2020 and 01 Oct 2020 with a diagnosis of COVID-19 infection. The diagnosis of COVID-19 was based on a real-time transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing.

Serum vitamin D levels were measured, and those with a vitamin D level of < 20 ng/ml or 21 to 30 ng received a single 300.000 IU dose of vitamin D. Thus, the patients were grouped based on who did or did not receive vitamin D support.

There were no patients requiring intensive care unit admission in the vitamin D group (0 %, n = 0), as compared to the group without vitamin D support (7.1 %, n = 12), although the difference was not statistically significant. Only two patients in the vitamin D group (5.4 %) required advanced medical treatment (e.g. high dose steroids, plasma therapy, tocilizumab etc.), as compared to 15 (8.8 %) in the other group; however this difference was not statistically significant. The most remarkable result was found in mortality rates in the study; namely, in which only 1 patient (2.7 %) died in the vitamin D group and 24 patients (14.1 %) in the other group (p=0.038).

Lots of evidence out there on how to treat Covid-19 and Covid-19 co-morbities easily and safely. Additionally, promotion of Vitamin D would support Blacks who are discriminated against for living too far outside their bio-geoclimatic zone in Europe and North America. But the politicians and bureaucrats and CIA mockingbird type corporate journalists and other degenerate Marxists who lead them would rather force vaccination that increases autism as well as other degenerative medical conditions even before inclusion of rNMA code factories as vaccines that they want to impose on all that very few chemical laboratories are able to analyze for proteins they are coded to produce and thus their toxicity.

Imagine a billion dollars or so in free vitamin D supplements could have done as good a job as the health care industry claims their vaccine does, even better over time, and reduced symptoms of other disease! (rant out)

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov: COVID-19 Mortality Risk Correlates Inversely with Vitamin D3 Status, and a Mortality Rate Close to Zero Could Theoretically Be Achieved at 50 ng/mL 25(OH)D3: Results of a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34684596/)

2021 Oct 14
Results: One population study and seven clinical studies were identified, which reported D3 blood levels preinfection or on the day of hospital admission. The two independent datasets showed a negative Pearson correlation of D3 levels and mortality risk (r(17) = -0.4154, p = 0.0770/r(13) = -0.4886, p = 0.0646). For the combined data, median (IQR) D3 levels were 23.2 ng/mL (17.4-26.8), and a significant Pearson correlation was observed (r(32) = -0.3989, p = 0.0194). Regression suggested a theoretical point of zero mortality at approximately 50 ng/mL D3.

Conclusions: The datasets provide strong evidence that low D3 is a predictor rather than just a side effect of the infection. Despite ongoing vaccinations, we recommend raising serum 25(OH)D levels to above 50 ng/mL to prevent or mitigate new outbreaks due to escape mutations or decreasing antibody activity.

Unvaccinated Caucasian adults with low vitamin D have higher mortality due to Sars CoV-2 pneumonia, according to the small-scale study by researchers at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown and Technological University Dublin. This is not explained by confounders such as age or obesity and is not closely linked to inflammation, they say.

Having an insufficient level of vitamin D was associated with a greater than fourfold increased mortality risk, according to the study, published in the journal Nutrients.

The study looked at the outcomes of 232 unvaccinated patients at Connolly hospital, all of whom had Covid-19 and required supplemental oxygen...

The mortality rate among patients aged under 70 and who had “insufficient” vitamin D levels (less than 30 nanomoles per litre) was 11.8 per cent, compared to 2.2 per cent who had higher vitamin levels (greater than 30 nanomoles per litre).

Among over-70s, the mortality rate for those with insufficient vitamin D levels was 55 per cent, compared to 25 per cent for those with high vitamin D levels.

“Unvaccinated Caucasian adults with a low vitamin D state have higher mortality due to Sars CoV-2 pneumonia, which is not explained by confounders and is not closely linked with elevated serum CRP (C-reactive protein, an indicator of inflammation),” the authors state.

The authors say their data adds to a growing body of literature that appears to support a causal link between low vitamin D status and Covid-19 disease severity and death.

sciencedaily.com: Black American women with vitamin D insufficiency more likely to test positive for COVID-19, study finds (https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2021/07/210727163242.htm)

July 27, 2021
Researchers from Boston University's Slone Epidemiology Center assessed levels of vitamin D (deficient, insufficient and sufficient) among women who had been tested for COVID-19 using data from the Black Women's Health Study (BWHS), a prospective cohort study established in 1995, when 59,000 black women ages 21 through 69 years enrolled by completing health questionnaires.

These findings appear online in the journal PLOS ONE.

The study estimated that Black American women with deficient levels of vitamin D had a 69 percent greater risk of COVID-19 infection than women with sufficient vitamin D levels. The association between low serum vitamin D and higher risk of infection was strongest among women with obesity...

A few other studies have reported inverse associations between vitamin D and COVID-19 infection, but these were largely in Whites or did not provide estimates according to either race or BMI. As the first published analysis on the relation of serum vitamin D and COVID-19 infection in Black women, these findings may help to explain why Black women are overrepresented among COVID-19 cases, as this population commonly experiences vitamin D insufficiency. The study also shows that a number of important factors related to risk of COVID-19 infection, including number of people in the household, years of education and residential neighborhood socioeconomic status, did not account for the association.

It is widely known that vitamin D deficiency and obesity are associated with risk of chronic diseases like osteoporosis, cancer, and cardiovascular disease. These findings add COVID-19 to that list.

"Nearly one out of four people have vitamin D blood levels that are too low or inadequate for bone and overall health," says lead author Yvette Cozier, DSc, associate professor of epidemiology at Boston University School of Public Health

JMIR Infodemiology | COVID-19 and Vitamin D Misinformation on YouTube: Content Analysis (https://blog.jmir.org/2022/08/01/jmir-infodemiology-covid-19-and-vitamin-d-misinformation-on-youtube-content-analysis/)

August 1, 2022
In total, 77 videos with a combined 10,225,763 views were included in the analysis, with over three-quarters of them containing misleading content about COVID-19 and vitamin D. In addition, 45 of the 77 videos confused the relationship between vitamin D and COVID-19, with 46 of 54 videos stating that vitamin D has preventive or curative abilities.

The spread of misinformation is particularly alarming when spread by medical professionals, and existing data suggesting vitamin D has immune-boosting abilities can add to viewer confusion or mistrust in health information.

Dr. Cheryl E. Peters said, “The SARS-CoV-2 virus outbreak is a serious global threat, accompanied by an ‘infodemic’ of health misinformation and disinformation.” ...

The practical next steps to address this challenge include the sharing of anti-misinformation efforts as well as prebunking or debunking methods to curb risky “immune boosting” behaviors on social media in order to deter the avoidable negative health consequences of unnecessary supplementation.
