okay, this is getting weird. in the last few days, huffingtonpost has scrubbed the entire database of it's comments section. tons of stuff is just "gone."

now they suddenly reformatted the whole site, there's a weird slew of new moderators, and every post you make is moderated. anything too left or too right is deleted.

completely odd, i don't know what to make of it. i have 2 shill accounts over there where i try to incite the lefties for fun. i got both of them banned for expressing opposing political views on the oil spill in LA.

does not make any sense. :conf:

Clearly they hired the GIM2 mods to manage the site....

I've never intended to seriously browse through the site considering that all of the flash crap, the comments section, and advertisements required so much time to load one damned page.

On a related note, it really shouldn't surprise anyone that a website operated by statist control freaks would turn out that way.

Their are work-arounds, like putting up our own phpBB websites. It only costs about $120 a year for the anon. domain name & the web-hosting.

BUT the spam bot registrations can be tough to deal with for a non-programmer.

I'm trying to learn how to make a functional phpBB website, the default phpBB does not stop the floods of spambot registration.

Anyway, there are workarounds. I'm sure many or most or all of the people here could create better websites than the Huffington Post.

You are why the internet sucks....just playing with peoples emotions for your own sick perverse enjoyment. Think of how time, resources, and money went into creating an internet that we can all meet and discuss on...electricity, microchips, binary data, literally biillions of dollars worth of human productivity.......

....just so chad can get a few kicks pissing people off. Because thats whats important in life, is pissing random strangers off. good job chad.

Huffingtonpost must have been taking notes when GIM1 "died" and took more notes about the moderation at the Censored Deuce. They must want to follow in the Censored Deuce's footsteps.

pot_dragon has earned himself a 1 month timeout. He has the dubious distinction of having EVERY ONE of his 5 posts be either a personal attack, or an attack on everyone posting to a thread he's replying to.

Way to go, pot_dragon! You've set a new standard here.

The morlocks have noticed that the eloi are having thoughtful discussions at meal time, whihc is unprecedented and frowned upon. One of the eloi questioned the need to obey the evacuation siren. The other eloi hadn't even given the matter any thought - prior to the comment. The morlocks have rearranged the meal time seatings: no group of eloi may dine together on two consecutive days.

Looks to me as though they are trying to compete with others for ad revenues. If you want to increase your ad revenues on a forum, you must do what is necessary to bring in and keep as many people as possible. You can't do that by supporting one side of a view point against all other sides. That tends to drive people away which tends to drive down ad revenues. HuffPo forums became known as a far left loony bin that would not accept any voice that challenged their itty bitty brains. Why bother with HuffPo when you can go to the DU.
