As my mother, the woman with the most anti-green thumb ever, has time and again proved, you can indeed kill an airplant from lack of water....she has also proved it with everything from cactus to herbs. In fact, I think one time she killed some pressure treated lumber. Not even sure how that happened.

Back on-topic. Gotta love how the first thing governments and their militaries do is try to turn every extraordinary or "super natural" gift into a mean to make their weapons more effective. Its not: "How is this possible? We could learn so much from this..." instead it is "How is this possible, how can we utilize this to kill every mother fucking thing that walks?"

Sure it is but how many hippies would flock to this scrawny BS artist to receive his wisdom?

I would say with 99% certainty that this is BS. But after looking at the photo of the man in the article (sorry can't post photo since I am at my iPhone), I do have some doubts, that guy looks way out of this world... I am a sceptical person who wants verifiable facts, but I have resigned to the fact that sometimes freaky things happen and there are no good answers to it if you go down the logical route... I would like to see the results of this mans isolation without food and water...

The human body can neither survive without water for a few days nor food for a few weeks.

I think it's BS as well.

Why are Indians so great at the impossible?

What about the girl crying blood on the Discovery channel?

What is interesting is how many psychopaths follow these BS gurus and die in the process. Good riddance. That Scottish woman obviously suffers from split personality disorder, hystrionic personality disorder and a bunch of other mental ilnesses.

Maybe we need to form a government agency that stops these people from starving themselves.

Some people actually don't sleep, though not by choice. I met one of them.

There's good money in India for doing magic and miracles. This is BS.

Just watch. He is about to break his fast and once he gets that taste of blood, there will be a sudden resurgence of vampires. Then we will be asking "where are the lycons when we need them?"

Though it's probably BS just by virtue of most people being dishonest and attention seeking, you are wrong if you say that the human body cannot survive without food for more than a few weeks.

This isn't the first claim from India of somebody who has stopped eating. Another man claims he hasn't eaten or drank anything besides tea for the last 22 years. Nobody has disproved his claim yet. Tea has a lot of trace minerals, just no calories.

Fasts longer than several months and up to a year have been documented.

The truth is that there is no hard and fast rule about how much food you actually *need*. Most people, I'll admit, do need regular food.

uranian

extremely easy to test, so just stick him on film for 3 or 4 days, if he doesn't drink, fair enough. i too imagine this is just another scam to entrance indians.

TheNocturnalEgyptian
30th April 2010, 11:51 AM
Also those who are into ascendant meditation (the masters of this, not newbies to meditation - newbies truly meditate about 1-2 minutes of every hour they spend trying) claim that as long as they're in the full lotus position, they do not need to drink. This is a claim going back hundreds if not thousands of years and originating simultaneously across multiple cultures.

Something about the pineal gland actually synthesizing water for the body to use.

I don't understand it, and I don't claim it's true - I'm just reporting the claim to you.

Hey Nocturnal, how much do you think a motorcycle jacket like the one you posted would cost?
I kind of like it.

TheNocturnalEgyptian
30th April 2010, 04:07 PM
That would be a badass jacket for motorcycling, now that you mention it. The pockets (used for water caching in the book) would be perfect for armor (to avoid roadrash while cycling)

Why not go for the entire jumpsuit?

Not anything mentioned about weight loss during the trial, but it seems his physiology stayed within normal limits during the 15 days!

there simply aren't any rational explanations for this...

willie pete

There's a rational explanation; it's BS ;D if you don't eat, the body will feed off of itself, but that won't last indefinitely
