i appreciate your posting it because most of their stuff is good.
but this one was embarassing.
Rafeeq didn't know the price of silver or palladium. he stated that silver is $13 - Daryl corrected him. he also stated that palladium was more expensive than gold.
then Daryl said that silver will be as expensive as platinum in 10 years.
some of the issues they raised - production & consumption rates, industrial uses, etc. - are worth talking about. but they didn't have the facts !
one other point about silver in electronics - there has been more utilization of silver solder which is obviously very expensive. because of concerns about tin-lead.
having grown up with 63-37 (eutectic tin lead alloy), i know for sure - it works great. if silver gets too expensive to be used disposably in electronics, why not return to tin-lead, or silver free indium-bismuth alloys ?
i'm one of their biggest fans but they need to do editing and admit, "OK this is not one of our best efforts".

I think the platinum comparison is not to far off
they are saying silver will be "extinct" by 2020 (maybe sooner)
silver is a very unique metal, copper is the smart metal, well silver is the brilliant/genius metal
and they find new uses/abilities for silver almost daily.
Silver is like the metal for the information age, Like Iron was the metal of the industrial age.
as you get smaller & smarter, then silver's unique properties become more important.

silver's industrial utility is a function of its applications - and its price.
silver @ $100 gives manufacturers of cell-phones, photovoltaics, catalytic converters, etc. to re-consider the design of their products.
also, their competitors (competing processes) become more useful when silver gets more expensive. solar thermal is already a great process for converting sun light to electricity. e.g. Stirling Energy

as photovoltaics get more expensive because of silver rising in price, solar thermal manufacturers are better able to compete with photovoltaics.

silver is the best conductor of electricity
meaning if you want a tiny tiny cisrcuit (nano), then Silver is the best choice.
reflecting of light, thermal conductor, etc
add in the medicinal properties.
Silver will be tough to replace.
some of the things make palladium attractive, but $500+ an ounce for palladium
