Your thoughts on Linus Pauling and Vitamin C

I was wondering what everyone here thinks of Pauling's recommendations of high dosages of Vitamin C and other vitamins for preventing illness.

That seems to be the general concensus among the medical community. But it's hard, for me at least, to dismiss such an accomplished scientist like Pauling so easily.

I noticed an improvement by taking 1000-2000mg daily. Ester-C brand from Amazon.

Works well for me, the chewable 500mg a day seems enough to maintain, double dosage to knock out any glitch.

I noticed an improvement too. It was the only vitamin supplement where it was noticeable. Wish Old Herb Lady was still here to give her thoughts.
