In the UK, Asian is defined as someone who is from or whose ancestry can be traced to South Asia (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, etc.) and Orientals is used to define anyone who is from or whose ancestry can be traced to East and probably Southeast Asia.
