The original story was that Citigroup was the seller. Even if the story was true that they hit a b instead of an m then they were still going to sell 65 million worth of that company today.

I do not think that there is a picture that is big enough get all of the smiles at the closing bell today. Yeah there were "winners" today just like there were "losers" today and there were people (like me) that sat "on the sidelines" eating popcorn and watching the fireworks on Wall Street.

Yeah I have a 401-K too mick but 92% of it is in a stable value fund. The other 8% is in the S&P 500 index fund. If the S&P 500 went to zero tomorrow, then it will not be a big deal to me because it will not put a big dent in my 401-K balance. I am not not worried about the stock market putting a dent in my 401-K plan. The much bigger concern is if/when the gov't puts a "dent" into my 401-K plan (i.e. confiscation).
I am sure that the cancellation of the Nasdaq trades will have some effect on stock mutual funds that are held in 401-K plans as well. I guess that the gold and silver markets are not the only rigged game in town.
