I've got a bunch of interesting books one can read about the effect of precious metals, such as gold and silver, on money and economic systems. Didn't read them all, but I find quite a lot of references to these in modern books on money and precious metals.

Please share yours as well.

Alexander Del Mar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_del_mar)
At the time of original publication in 1899, Alexander Del Mar, M.E., of Jewish-Spanish descent, was formerly Director of the Bureau of Statistics of the United States; nominated in 1872 as Secretary of Treasury; Mining Commissioner to the United States Monetary Commission of 1876; and the author of a number of books, including: "A History of Precious Metals," and "The Science of Money."

Another words, this is about money from the horse's mouth.
