Philly Police Officer shot- suspect still on the streets
April 5 By Alex Lloyd Gross

Just after 4:00 AM, in the 19th District, Sgt Robert Ralston stopped to question why two men were walking along railroad tracks in the area of 56th & Lancaster. One male ran away and the other was walking away. As Sgt. Ralston attempted to question him, the man pulled a pistol and aimed it at Ralston's head.

Ralston quickly pushed the gun away, but not before suffering a gunshot wound to his shoulder. He returned fire. Sgt. Ralston believes he shot the male, before he got away. There have been no reports of gunshot victims at any area hospital.

Ralston was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He was treated and released a short while later.

Deputy Police Commissioner Richard Ross said that Ralston's quick thinking saved his life. There is no doubt the gunman was aiming for the Sgt's Head. No police sketch of the wanted individuals have been released at this time.

(what really happened)......

The Examiner first reported :a police Sgt. was shot while investigating two pedestrians
in April. A thorough investigation followed and there were holes in the officers version of events. Such as why there was no ballistic evidence located to match any other weapons. No pedestrians were stopped that met a description and no witnesses came forward to say they saw anything. Police were looking for two black males.

Sgt Robert Ralston was brought in for questioning again and this time evidence was matched from his police uniform to the same ballistic evidence used by the dept. He was promised immunity for a chance to tell the truth. That truth was shocking to police commanders. Ralston reportedly shot himself but could not articulate a reason why, police said.

Ralston was suspended from the dept. for 30 days with intent to dismiss. Due to the immunity agreement, he will not face any charges. He will be made to pay for the costs of the investigation. police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said . He also said that he was troubled Ralston claimed his attackers were black. He reportedly said that to "make his story more believable",

Ramsey stated that Ralston told investigators he considered shooting himself in the chest but he did not. Ralston was a 21 year old veteran of the department.

Thank god they caught this quickly.
This happened in Brockton Mass many years ago.
We all know how LEOs get when one of their own is allegedly attacked.
Unfortunately they caught the "suspect" and abused him.
