It has nothing to do with lack of interest...it is the result of hierarchical control of all facets of peoples lives. Schools don't teach economics ( all economic studies are controlled by the money cartel), they teach debt slavery economics. Farmers don't farm to provide wholesome nutrition, they farm according to how the money cartel and the corporate interest they control what them to farm. This goes for just about anything you can think of.

Your average person has always been a follower, this is just how it goes when a group of power corrupt individuals get control.
