My wife and I do not, yet (we do have concealed carry permits). But, earlier this evening I did order pepper spray to leave in the auto and pickup cup holders.
At home, doors and gates locked, firearms handy, and two labs on guard duty.

I carry my .32 everywhere, everyday, but some say carrying a .32 is like not carrying. ::)

Cali here. I don't currently, it's not legal. The jungle climate will determine the future for me.

Quixote? carry a can of wasp spray or bear spray ........or better yet and can of carburetor cleaner spray........the pepper spray can get you into trouble but not the carburetor cleaner spray....................I did spray it on my own eyes and I was blinded for a long time, the tip was pointing the wrong way :oo-->

I always carry just as I would carry my cell phone, leatherman, etc.

4. Two extra 17-round magazines in ankle carrier
5. Pocket Knife
6. Leather Driving Gloves (depending on weather)
7. Keys (two sets - not shown)
8. Cell Phone
9. Bandana

Glock 19 and Milt Sparks V2 holster.
It kind of defeats the purpose of having a CCW and not utilizing it.

My husband is pressuring me to carry at all times and has me carry it with me on trips for now . I'm going to take the concealed weapons class soon and will probably start carrying one in the car at all times. I worry about the best way to do this with kids in the car. I think I will have to lock it in the glove box. I never leave them alone in there - ever but I want to be very careful about this.

I remember when I first started carrying on a regular basis, I was struck with the magnitude of responsibility that it is to carry a loaded gun with you everywhere. It definitely changes the way you look at things; and it's definitely empowering to know that if, God forbid anything happens, my life does not depend on LEOs 20 minutes away who have no legal obligation to protect me. To answer the OP, if I'm not in the house, I'm carrying.

No. Have them handy in the apartment. Sometimes when driving out of town I'll keep something in the truck.

Every day, everywhere. I feel naked without my revolver. I also have an AK that rides behind the seat of my truck. There have been several times my revolver came in handy. Once while riding my bike we were out in the sticks at a little Mom & Pop grocery getting some gas. A beat-up pickup pulled along side of me while I was sitting on my bike and the 20 something driver leaned out the window and spit tobacco spit on my boot. Then he said he'd like to "Have my motorcycle" The passenger was getting out. I stood up and let my shirt ride up showing my revolver. Well that's where it ended. They took one look and saw that I was armed and drove off quickly.
Another time it didn't end well for the attacker, I went to jail but I was found “Not Guilty†by the court, it was self defense.

Been carrying for 20 years.
Currently, it is my 1911A1 with a 2-mag paddle holster...everywhere I go.

Im in Commiefornia also. So I don't carry.
I have been fortunate to live in nice-er areas all my life.
If things get bad, I may open carry when and if I go out.
But I think it is a real good idea to carry...and I wish more folks that can, would.
I think the world would be a safer place if more law biding citizens carried.

Great stories, mtnman. Certainly food for thought.
I do not carry, but I have a feeling I will some day in the not too distant future. I'd like to take some tactical shooting classes first. I know how much more comfortable I am with my rifle since going to the Appleseed Project training. I'd like to have that same kind of confidence before I am carrying a weapon around in public.
I think madfranks expressed it best - "the magnitude of responsibility", and I am big enough to admit that I am not ready for that yet.

Couple of guys in my town were arrested for pointing their pistols at each other because of a misinterpretation of the first guy pointing his pistol at a suspected robber. The second guy thought the first guy with the gun was the bad guy. Cops show up and arrest both after determining that the original unarmed "suspected" robber was innocent. Turns out these arrested two guys with the pistols had Concealed Weapons Licences. Moral of this story: A CWL is not a police badge.
