Seems like Jeff has his facts at hand and reasons on a level-headed basis. Bill argues like a raving lunatic and likes to be entitled to his own facts. If GATA has a case, Bill is not the guy to put front and center to represent the case; his style is off-putting. I like Jeff's debating style, but I think he needs to be challenged at a deeper level.

Puplava does a decent job refereeing the debate. Love to hear other's thoughts.

i did wonder about some of these interviews, "is this just a con to get us to buy physical gold ?"

maybe Adrian Douglas states the GATA case better.

i finally listened to it.

Jeff Christian is a much more polished speaker.

neither of them refuted anything the other guy said.

i thought it was interesting that they mentioned an instance of gold price/ fiat currency manipulation in 1961.

Jeff did not refute the Andrew Maguire testimony, where he shared his inside info with the CFTC & predicted market price moves in early Feb. 2010, which most of us then witnessed.

they also didn't address the Harvey & Lenny Organ story about "no gold in an allocated account". i am guessing that their account is allocated because they are charged storage fees, because of their knowledge, and because of their expectation that the gold would be there.

but neither Jeff nor Bill presented any more facts on that. Puplava mentioned that he checked with Jim Barisheff and a few other bullion fund managers, who have bullion accounts at Scotia Macatta. Barisheff says the gold is "there".

but that doesn't tell us what happened in the case of the Organs.

i think they need to have Jeff Christian debate Andrew Maguire 1 on 1, and another debate with the Organs.

i can't say i learned a whole bunch but maybe i'll listen to it again.

Bill just doesn't do well with a hostile audience, but he knows a lot.

what i don't understand is how the organizations that do the price manipulation make money on it.

so JPMorgan places a humongous silver short, or HSBC places a Ginormous gold short.

do the government's pay them to do this ? or do they get special privileges - such as the government not saying anything about their HUGE salaries, which are partially financed by US gov. bail-out money ?
